About Us

Introduction

The Sri Lanka Naval Association (SLNA) was founded on 08th December 1979. There were 57 Ex Naval personnel who had been enrolled as Members at the Inaugural Meeting. The Sri Lanka Navy Welfare Fund made the first donation of Rs 1000.00 to the SLNA Benevolent fund at the Inaugural Meeting. At present the SLNA has over 12038 Members.

Objectives

A. To foster a spirit of comradeship and Spirit-de-Corps among all Naval Personnel who have served in the Royal Ceylon Navy and Sri Lanka Navy either as Regulars or Volunteers.

B. To promote the welfare of Members.

C. To encourage and recognize the formation of Regional or Branch Associations and appoint of Coordinators who are best able to generate greater interest and gather support to uplift the Organizational activities further and disseminate news of the activities of the SLNA in their respective Regions.

D. To make such representations as necessary to the state, Sri Lanka Navy,(SLN) Sri Lanka Ex Servicemen’s Association (SLESA)/Sri Lanka Armed Forces Veteran's Association (SLAFVA) and other organizations, to safeguard and promote the interest of the Members.

E. To assist Members find employment whatever and whenever possible.

F. To create and maintain a Benevolent fund.

G. To grant financial and other assistance within the available resources to Members and their immediate dependents, who in the opinion of the General Committee, are in need of such assistance.

H. To affiliate with the Sri Lanka Ex- Servicemen’s Association / Sri Lanka Armed Forces Veteran's Association (SLAFVA) and to maintain cordial relations with other kindred Associations.
